Unusual clouds often catch my attention.  My first thought on seeing this one was that it looked like a giant lasso in the sky.  Someone else, after seeing the photograph, said it looked like a giant question mark.  The late afternoon sun highlighting the contours of the hills was icing on the cake.

The sun highlighting something against a dark background is always certain to catch the eye of a photographer. 

Walking behind this old ranch house, the blue cellar doors first caught my attention.  However, it was the shapes and shadows that demanded I photograph this scene.
